Maximizing Your Marketing Efforts With Ours
Ever have the thought that selling your artwork online would be easy?
I think we all have, and many of us along the way have found the opposite to be true: it can be a very difficult experience. There are multiple aspects to making your artwork sellable online. Outlined below are our recommendations to maximize our sales opportunities and an introduction to our marketing strategy to assist you in reaching more viewers.
1. Use ArtBeacon Functionality To Its Fullest - Back To Top
Provide relevant and accurate information about your artwork to maximize use of ArtBeacon marketing/e-commerce functionality and search engine optimization. (See "Search Optimization and Your Site") Activate and properly configure payment gateways to accept payment from your customers. (See "Accepting PayPal and Credit Cards") Work to format and present your site content in an orderly and professional manner. (Review HTML Basics Help).
2. Increase Exposure Of Your Work Online With Others - Back To Top
When discussing your artwork with others be sure to let them know about your site. If discussing your work via email or in online forums add your URL to your signature. A URL in your signature is equivalent to an electronic business card. When people come across your email or forum post they'll be curious to see your work. Take the time to increase your exposure with these simple steps so that you can take advantage of secondary and tertiary exposure via "word of mouth" and online breadcrumbs leading people back to your web site/store.
3. Link Exchange - Back To Top
One of the most commonly used methods today to help users expand their visibility and exposure is to pursue link exchanges with other artists, miscellaneous sites, and Internet directories. The person managing a site (webmaster) will often provide a link to yours in exchange for you providing a link to their site on your page or in the ArtBeacon Resources section (in particular the Art Directories section). The secondary benefit (and primary benefit for some) is that this helps in search engine rankings. The more links found on the Internet to your site the higher your site will display on search results for keywords designated through out your site. Several sites that accept link exchanges can be found in the "Art Directories" listing with in the Resources section. Learn more about search optimization by reading "Search Optimization and Your Site".
4. Increase Exposure Of Your Work In Real World Settings - Back To Top
Nothing will ever replace the social and tactile experience of sharing art with others. Do not for one minute think that using an online service alone will provide you with the complete exposure to art enthusiasts and buyers that you will need. ArtBeacon provides a great resource for you to expand your sales opportunities beyond the norm. Understanding this is essential. Pursue placement of art in a variety of settings (cafes, galleries, etc.). Wherever appropriate include your URL for increased exposure (Art display cards, printed artist biographies, art directories, etc.) Display your site URL on your business card and in other marketing material such as postcards.
Soon ArtBeacon will provide expanded service through various business partners to offer print services.
5. Combine All Exposure Mediums To Create A Focal Point Of Activity To Increase Sales - Back To Top

ArtBeacon has a three-tiered marketing strategy. The first tier, previously discussed, is comprised of the collective marketing effort by all ArtBeacon members. The second tier is marketing to art enthusiasts and buyers on behalf of the collective of artists. This marketing is being done via Google AdWords
- Google AdWords ads appear on Google and partner sites.), various banner campaigns, and future print campaigns. The third tier is to market, in person, to various companies for art sales and rentals. Tier one and two are underway. Functionality to support tier three is being finalized, but is still be pursued on a rolling basis.
